Lloyd A. Barnard

Belmont--------Lloyd A. Barnard, 77, of 96 Gray Rocks Road, Belmont, died at his home on Friday, January 31, 2003.

Mr. Barnard was born November 26, 1925 in Boston, MA, the son of Burton and Ruth M. (Wyatt) Barnard.

Mr. Barnard served in the US Navy during WWII for over two years on the USS Joseph E. Campbell as a Signalman third class.

Mr. Barnard was the postmaster for the town of Lochmere for 28 years and owned and operated the Barnard General Store and Post Office in Lochmere, retiring in 1985. He was a member and former 20 year treasurer of the Lochmere Baptist Church in Lochmere and was a member of the VFW Post of Franklin.

A simple man who got all he wanted, with dedicated service to his beloved wife Natalie, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Natalie (Sanborn) Barnard of Belmont; two sons, Spencer Barnard of Denver, Col. and Steven Barnard of Laconia; a daughter Nancy Tivey of Lowell, MA; a sister, Elizabeth L. Whipple of N.Y.; and a brother, Karl L. Barnard of Lochmere; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by 2 grandsons Shawn Barnard and Michael Barnard.

A calling hour will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, Friday, February 7, 2003 from noon until 1:00 PM. Using the Carriage House entrance of the funeral home. A funeral service will be held following the calling hour at the funeral home at 1:00 PM.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Park Cemetery, Tilton.
