Laconia--- Donald R. Shaw, 70 of 109 Anthony Drive died at his home on Sunday, February 18, 2007.

Don was born June 9, 1936 in Dover, NH the son of Jasper J. and Jeanette L . (Lanouette) Shaw.  He served in the US Army and then the US Navy. He had been a resident of Laconia for the past 43 years coming from Ashland.

Don was employed at E.M. Heath Hardware in Center Harbor retiring because of his illness. He had formerly been employed at Gilford Well, Belknap Landscaping, Jenkins Garden Center and Coca-Cola. He was a former patrolman for the Laconia Police Department for 3 years. 

Survivors include his loving wife Betty (Beard) Shaw of Laconia; 3 daughters, Susan and her husband Emery Swanson of Gilford, Teresa Dockham of Laconia and Sheryl Shaw of Franklin, NH; 2 stepsons, Mark Grant of Andover, MA and Robert McLaughlan of Laconia, NH;  3 stepdaughters Susan McLaughlan of Billerica, MA, Patricia  McLaughlan of Meredith, NH and Joanna Christopoulos of Newton, MA; 2 brothers, Ronald Shaw of Ashland, NH and Robert Shaw of Brookville, FL; a sister, Leona Grenier of Ashland, NH; 3 grandchildren, Justin Dockham of Gilford, Joshua Dockham of Florida and Andrew Soloman of Nashua, NH; several step grandchildren as well as several nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 from 6-8 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance of the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of The Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Laconia, NH Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to Community Health & Hospice, 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH, 03246.
