Laconia-----Lorraine B. (Gray) Dargy, 70 of 40 Whipple Ave. beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away Friday, February 9, 2007 at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Lorraine was born in Ashland, NH to Stephen and Alexina (Dion) Gray on January 15, 1937.

Lorraine was a communicant of St. Joseph’s parish where, for a number of years, she served as a Eucharistic minister and lector.   She was a member of the Ladies Guild and participated in retreats at the Oblate Retreat House in Hudson, NH for 25 years before its closing in 2000.  Her faith was strong and she enjoyed pilgrimages to Israel, Portugal and the Vatican City.  Other interests were family genealogy, word games and reading.

She is survived by her husband Dick; three daughters and their partners, Naomi and Alan, Michele and Beth, Nicole and Brad, all of Laconia.  Her grandsons, Benjamin and his wife Holly of Dover, Aaron and his fiancée, Nikki of Suffren, NY, Peter, Nicholas, Steven and Maximillian all of Laconia.  A granddaughter, Meredyth and her boyfriend Dexter of Laconia and a great-granddaughter Taylor.

Her five sisters and their husbands, Jeannette and Walter Atherton of Tilton, Lillian and Dick Watson, Priscilla and Nelson Leclair, Yvonne and Raymond Dupont, all of Laconia.  Alexina and Ben Azotea of Gilmanton.  Three brothers and their wives, Edwin and Sharon Grey and Cliff and Pat Gray all of NY and Jimmy and Ginger Gray of RI.  One uncle, Aime Dion of Belmont.  Two aunts, Bertha Grey and Simone McNamara of NY.  Many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by six half siblings, her cousin Theodore Grey and nephews Roland Gray and Raymond Dupont, Jr.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 14, 2007 from 6-8 pm at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church 30 Church Street, Laconia Thursday February 15, 2007 at 10:00 AM. by Rev. Gary Kosmowski pastor of the church. Spring burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
