Milton B. Cram, Sr.

Gilford----Milton B. Cram, Sr., 85, of 85 Varney Point Road Left, died at his home on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. 

Mr. Cram was born May 7, 1921 in Manchester, NH, the son of Oscar L. and Lettie (Sweet) Cram.  He attended schools in Manchester and also attended the University of New Hampshire in Durham.  He was a fraternal member of Alpha Tau Omega.  He lived in Wilmington, MA for many years before moving to Gilford thirty-seven years ago. 

Mr. Cram served in the U. S. Army during WWII from May, 1943 to November, 1945.  He went overseas on the Queen Elizabeth, part of the 19,000 servicemen with the 106th Division 423rd Infantry Regiment, Cannon Co. and served with the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a POW, being captured at the Battle of the Bulge on December 16, 1944.  He had been a member of the P.O.W. Chapter of NH since its second year of organization and was a director for ten years and was a former member of the Monasota Chapter of Ex-Prisoner of War in Bradenton, Florida.

 Mr. Cram was employed as an inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration for thirty-two years.

Mr. Cram was an active member of the Wilmington Congregational Church and a member of the Gilford Community Church.  

Survivors include three sons, Milton Cram, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Methuen, MA, Richard L. Cram and his wife, Cathy, of Hampstead, NH and Robert S. Cram and his life partner, Michael Mooney, of Melvin Village, NH; a daughter, Marcia I. Calise, and her husband, Chris, of Westbrook, Maine; five grandchildren, Heather Lynne Cram of Minnesota, Michelle Jordan of California, Shannon Jordan of Maine, Tammy Callaway of Goffstown, NH and Melanie Whitney of New Jersey; a sister, Madelyn Milliken, of Portland, Maine and many nephews and nieces.  He was predeceased by his wife of fifty-one years, Vonda (Inman) Cram, in 1999.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 23, 2007 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Gilford Community Church, Potter Hill Road, Gilford, NH.  Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
