Claude A. McBride

Gilford------Claude A. McBride, 82, of 23 Yasmin Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Saturday, February 8, 2003.

Mr. McBride was born May 17, 1920 in Lowell, MA the son of Andrew and Loraina W. (Palmer) McBride.

Mr. McBride served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II.

He lived in Lowell, MA for many years before moving to Gilford, NH 17 years ago. While residing in Lowell, he was employed by The City of Lowell as the Business Manager for the Lowell School System and was a professor at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He was also the Director of Securities for the Division of Massachusetts.

Mr. McBride was a volunteer at Shaker Village in Canterbury, NH.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth M. (Hunter) McBride of Gilford; a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew H. and Paula ( Bertrand) McBride of Gilford, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, June L. and Francis Keefe of Lowell, MA; two grandsons, Francis A. Keefe of Tyngsboro, MA and Logan A. McBride of Gilford, NH; three great grandchildren; Erik, Shaun, & Alycia Keefe all of Tyngsboro, MA; a sister, Shirley Hiley of Zephyr Hills, Florida; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Jerry McBride.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2003, from Noon to 2:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia. NH A Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at 2:00 PM also at the Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service will be in the family lot in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, MA on Friday, May 16, 2003 at 1:00 PM.
