Dorothy C. Hamel

Laconia---Mrs. Dorothy C Hamel, 76, of 316 Holman Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia Saturday February 8, 2003 after a brief illness.

Mrs. Hamel was born November 3, 1926 in Laconia, the daughter of Earl C. and Annette (LaPointe) Knowlton. She was raised in Texas and was well traveled, spending time on various military bases throughout the country and also on Guam. She had been a resident of Laconia for the last 25 years.

Mrs. Hamel was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. She was a dedicated Nana. She enjoyed her pets and loved her music.

Survivors include her daughter Julie A. Irwin of Laconia; 2 grandchildren Faolan T. Connelly and Teagan E. Connelly both of Laconia; several close cousins.

Memorial calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2003 from 6-8 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage house entrance.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, Thursday, February 13, 2003 at 2:30 PM. The Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the church will officiate. Spring burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247.
