Alonzo G. Gallant

Belmont, NH-----Alonzo G. Gallant, 86, of 3 First Street, died at his home on Monday, December 31, 2007.

Mr. Gallant was born August 2, 1921 in Montpelier, Canada, the son of John and Eva (LaRoche) Gallant.  He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII.

Mr. Gallant lived in Lawrence, MA for several years before moving to New Hampshire.  He was employed by Western Electric for thirty years.

Mr. Gallant was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont.  He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Mr. Gallant is survived by his wife, Gladys (Houle) Gallant, of Belmont; three sons and daughters-in-law, Denis and Linda Gallant, Donald and Nancy Gallant and Brian and Paula Gallant; a daughter, Jane Donohue; stepchildren, Grant Ouellette and Lois Garabedian; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Emile Gallant; two sisters, Yvonne Conlon and Hazel Deschampe and several nephews and nieces.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, NH.

Burial with Military Honors will be held in the spring at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH, 03246 or to Laconia Senior Center, Meals on Wheels , 17 Church Street, Laconia, NH, 03246.
