Paul Elmer Johnson

Gilmanton, NH-----Paul Elmer Johnson, 84, of 42 Wood Drive died December 22, 2007 at his home. 

Mr. Johnson was born December 31, 1922 in Attleboro, Masssachusetts.  He was the son of Gustaf and Mary (Nelsen) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was the widow of Marian F. Cash who died in 2003.  Mr. Johnson has been a resident of Gilmanton for the past thirty years coming from Massachusetts.

Mr. Johnson was an insurance agent for John Hancock Life Insurance Company for fifteen years retiring in 1985. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Laconia Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed his ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses which he did until the time of his passing. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed working around his yard.

Survivors include a son, Steven L. Johnson; two daughters, Peggy L. Swift and Gail P. Weiss; five grandchildren, Karen Washkewits, Morgie Sulahian, Donna Weiss and Amanda and Paul Johnson; three great-grandchildren and three nieces.  He was predeceased by a brother, Alvin Johnson and by two sisters, Edith Bowen and Lily Dugas.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health and Hospice, Inc. 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03247, or to the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall Laconia, c/o Bill Bigelow, 303 Old Lake Shore Road, Gilford, NH 03249.
