Harold V. Joyce, Sr.

Laconia, NH-----Harold V. Joyce, Sr., 83, of 29 Birchwood Way, and formerly of Springvale, Maine died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Friday December 22, 2006. He was the widower of Evelyn A. Joyce who died May 3, 2006. 

Mr. Joyce was born March 13, 1923 in Winchester, MA the son of Charles R. and Blanche (Lewis) Joyce. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a long time resident of Laconia before moving to Maine in 1998.  After his wife died he moved back to Laconia.

Mr. Joyce was employed at Irwin Motors, Inc. as a car salesman for 26 years. He later was a real estate agent for Century 21 Twin Rivers Realty for a number of years.

Mr. Joyce was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, a member of American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post # 1and also a member of the New Hampshire Board of Realtors. He was a former member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876.

Survivors include a son, Harold “Skip” V. Joyce, Jr. of Laconia; a daughter, Sandra Orr, of Springvale, Maine; four grandchildren: nine great- grandchildren; a brother Norman L. Joyce of Laconia; 2 sisters Barbara Waldron of Laconia and Betty Hamel of Belmont; several nephews and nieces.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by 2 brothers Charles Joyce and Robert Joyce both of Winchester.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday December 26, 2006 from 1:00-2:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia. NH. 

A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home following the calling hour at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Hays Junkin, Rector of the St. James Episcopal Church will officiate.

Burial will be in the family lot at Union Cemetery, Academy St., Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home Activities Fund 139 Winter Street, Tilton, NH   03276.
