Susan Edson Roper

Laconia------Susan Edson Roper, 60, of Morningside Drive, died at home on Saturday, December 27, 2003 after a long illness.

Born in Littleton, NH on March 30, 1943, she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Jackson) Edson.

She grew up in Littleton and was a graduate of Littleton High School and Endicott College in Beverly, MA. She moved to Laconia in 1968.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, antiquing and knitting. She was an avid skier all of her life.

She was the beloved wife of 40 years of Donald Hart Roper. Besides her husband, she leaves her daughter, Tracy (Roper) Poirot and husband David of Simsbury, CT; her daughter Kimberly (Roper) Dewsnap and husband Brian of Rye, NH; five grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Sarah, Benjamin and Georgia Poirot; and Jack and Haley Dewsnap; two sisters, Fay (Edson) Lloyd of Bethlehem, NH and Gail (Edson) Girouard, of Littleton, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH on Friday, January 2, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jonathan MacKenzie, Rector of St. James Episcopal Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, 780 North Main Street Laconia, NH 03246.
