Alton Bay, N.H. -----------Mrs. Alice A. Petro, 80, of 60 Minge Cove Road, Alton Bay, NH, died Friday, December 5, 2003 at the Golden View Health Care Center, Meredith. She was the widow of John Petro who died in 1993.

Mrs. Petro was born September 19, 1923 in Seymour, CT., the daughter of Wilbur and Margaret (Wellner) Weed. She served in WWII as a WAVE.

Mrs. Petro had been a resident of Alton Bay for over 20 years coming from Seymour. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Laconia and was a volunteer for the VNA and cooked for the Soup Kitchen at the Laconia Salvation Army. She was an avid outdoors woman who loved gardening and hiking.

Survivors include a daughter Beverly J. and her husband Richard DiVaio of Alton Bay; 2 brothers Jay A. Petro of South Londonderry, VT and Ray E. Petro of Thornton.; a brother Bill Weed of Beacon Falls, CT.; a sister Edith Bauer of Hamden, CT.; many nephews and nieces.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2238 Parade Road, Laconia. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM following the calling hour at the church. The Rev. Robert Robb, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will take place at Trinity Cemetery, Seymour, CT at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 6125, Lakeport, NH 03247-6125.
