John Grant, Jr.

Gilford, NH---------John Grant, Jr., 87, of 36 October Lane, died Monday, December 16, 2002 at the Lakes Region General Hospital.

Mr. Grant was born March 7, 1915 in Lawrence, Ma the son of John and Ellen (Bellows) Grant, Sr. He lived in Salem, NH before moving to Gilford 16 years ago. Mr. Grant was retired from the Cushman Bakery in Lynn, Ma where he was employed for more than twenty years. He also work as a Security Guard for Ratheon in Lowell, MA. Mr. Grant served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. during World War II earning the rank of Corporal.

Survivors include his wife, Irene F (Komosinski) Grant of Gilford; two daughters, June Grant and her husband Roger Clough of Madbury, NH and Marcia Grant Dionne and her husband Gary of Laconia, NH; five grandchildren, Alexis Dionne, Grant Clough, Bethany Dionne, Christian Dionne and Catherine Clough and a sister Josephine Midgett of VA. and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Joseph Grant and three sisters, Helen Hird, Margaret Menzies and I. June Grant.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 from 9:00-11:00 AM from the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held following the calling hours at 11:00 at the Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, NH. Burial will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice
