James E. Dyer

Laconia, NH------James E. Dyer, 74, of 8A Summer Street, died December 10, 2002 in Biddeford, Maine. Mr. Dyer was the widower of Dorothy (Egan) Dyer who died December 24, 1995.

Mr. Dyer was born March 18, 1928 in Laconia, NH the son of George B. and Virginia (Marchand) Dyer and was a life long resident of Laconia.

Mr. Dyer served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was employed at Scott & Williams for over 20 years and had also worked for N. H. Ballbearing, retiring in 1994. For a number of years, Mr. Dyer worked part time at Union Cemetery. He was a longtime member of the Harness Association of America.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth A. Remal and Nanci M. Stone both of Gilford, NH; a son, James P. Dyer of Laconia, NH; six grandchildren; one great grandson; one sister, Vera Pooler of Laconia, NH and one brother, Ronald Dyer of Leominister, MA; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, George Dyer.

There will be no calling hours.

A private graveside service will be held in the Spring in Union Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the N. H. Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247.

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
