Roland A. Breton

Gilford, NH--------Mr. Roland A. Breton, 79, of 27 Liberty Hill, died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon on Thursday, December 5, 2002.

Mr. Breton was born May 20, 1923 in Lakeport, NH, the son of Aime and Anna (Morin) Breton. He was a lifetime resident of Gilford.

Mr. Breton served in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II and was employed at Laconia Malleable Iron Co. for forty years. He was also a Special Police Officer for the Town of Gilford for thirteen years in the 1960's.

Mr. Breton was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia.

Mr. Breton was a member of the Belknap County Sportsmen's Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Laconia Post 1670, the American Legion Wilkins Smith Post No. 1, the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876, and was a Hospice Volunteer for many years. He enjoyed roller skating, gardening and tinkering in his garage.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Rita (Cote) Breton of Gilford; six sons and four daughters, Roger Breton of Laconia, NH, Rachel Nadeau of Belmont, NH, Diane Moreau of Concord, NH, Philip Breton of Laconia, NH, Normand Breton of Gilmanton, NH, Denise Tougas of Milton, Vermont, Ronald Breton of Richmond, Vermont, Paul Breton of Belmont, NH, Raymond Breton of Gilmanton, NH and Jeanne Breton of Gilford, NH; thirteen grandchildren, Michelle Fridlington, Mary Lou Baldwin, Wendy L. Heureux, Ted Baldwin, Jim Moreau, Andrea Moreau, Michael Moreau, Nicholas Nadeau, Ross Breton, Taryn Breton, Cody Tougas, Evan Tougas and Jake Tougas; 6 great grandchildren; one sister, Annette Breton of Gilford, NH; three brothers, Leo Breton of Louisburg, S. C., Robert Breton of Cape Coral, Florida, and Gerard Breton of Sanbornton, NH and Cape Coral, Florida, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Andrew "Pat" Breton.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 9, 2002 from 2-4PM and 7-9 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246
