Dorothy M. Schofield

Laconia——-Mrs. Dorothy M. Schofield, 82, died at the Belknap County Nursing Home on Saturday, April 20, 2002. She was the widow of David H. Schofield who died in 1976.

Mrs. Schofield was born July 17, 1919 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Herbert and Laura (Smith) Mansfield. She was a life long resident of Laconia and graduated from Laconia High School. She worked for Kellerhaus for over 20 years.

She was a member of the United Baptist Church of Lakeport and also the Rebekahs, the Sweet Adeline’s and the Lakeport Womens Club. She enjoyed traveling and had lived in Belgium where she was formally introduced to Queene Elizabeth.

Survivors include a son Frederick H. Schofield of Laconia; 3 daughters Jarna Culp of Loveland, CO; Sharon LaFond of Phippsburg, ME and Lisa Garneau of Belmont, NH; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren 2 sisters Betty Altman of Laconia, NH; Miriam Nevitt of Scottsdale AZ and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter Sandrea McLauphlin; a brother, Herbert “Bud” Mansfield and a sister Illa Putnam.

Calling hours will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 PLeasant Street, Laconia, NH on Tuesday April 23, 2002 from 6-8 PM using the Carriage House entrance.

Funeral services will held at the Funeral Home, Wednesday at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Sharron Lamothe, Pastor of the United Baptist Church of Lakeport will officiate.

Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the United Baptist Church of Lakeport, 35 Park Street, Lakeport, NH 03246.
