Laconia----Pauline R. Royce, 95, of Durham and formerly a long time resident of Manchester and Laconia, died Monday, August 3, 2009 at the Douglas Wentworth Hospital, Dover. She was the widow of Donald E. Royce, Sr. who died November 24, 2006.

Mrs. Royce was born May 28, 1914 in Tilton, the daughter of William T. and Lucille (LaLiberte) Bechard. She married Donald E. Royce, Sr. in 1936 and they had celebrated their seventieth anniversary prior to Mr. Royce’s death.

Mrs. Royce was a former member of the Laconia School Board.

Upon retirement, Polly and Don traveled extensively. For twenty years, they spent the coldest months in Florida and returned to Manchester for the spring through fall. They especially enjoyed cruises and they went on many trips to various destinations.

Mrs. Royce is survived by her sons, Donald, Jr. of Dallas, Georgia, Steven and his wife, Maryellen, of Buffalo, New York and Peter and his wife, Nona, of Barrington, New Hampshire; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N. H.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Union Ave. Laconia, New Hampshire.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
