Laconia-----Hollis "Malcolm" M. Smith, 77, of Winter Street, died at his home on Tuesday, August 12, 2003.

Mr. Smith was born April 22, 1926, in Laconia, NH, the son of the late Hollis W. & Althea (Lyford) Smith. He graduated from Laconia High School and from New England College.

Mr. Smith served in the U. S. Air Force and served in the Occupational Forces in Japan following WWII. He was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for over 35 years, retiring in 1988.

Survivors include his brother Millard W. Smith and his wife, Mary K. Smith of Laconia; a sister, Marguerite Campbell Murphy and her husband Carl of E. Palatka, Florida; several nieces and nephews; two grandnieces, and several cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
