Laconia-----Malcolm W. Harrington, 94, formerly of 235 White Oaks Road, Hillcrest Farms, died at the Franklin Regional Hospital, Franklin on Wednesday, August 27, 2003. He had been a resident at the Mt. Ridge Center Eldercare in Franklin, NH

Mr. Harrington was born August 31, 1908 in West Campton, NH, the son of Nelson W. & Martha (Cook) Harrington. He lived in Laconia most of his life and was owner of Hillcrest Farms for 50 years.

Mr. Harrington had been a member of the Laconia Congregational Church since 1956 and was an Honorary Deacon. He was a Director of Merrimack Farmers Exchange; President of the Belknap County Farm Bureau; a Corporator of the Laconia Savings Bank; was treasurer of the Belknap Mill Association for five years; a member of the Mt. Belknap Grange and a charter member of the Province Road Grange. He served three terms in the New Hampshire Legislature representing Ward 6.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Helen L. (Holman) Harrington, of Laconia; three sons, Robert M. Harrington of Laconia, NH; Ray D. Harrington of Hancock, NH and David H. Harrington of Lovettsville, VA; 5 grandchildren, Danielle Harrington, Melissa Bonini, Ann Shilling, Christopher Harrington, and Matthew Harrington and two nephews.

There will be no calling hours

A Memorial Service will be held at the Laconia Congregational Church, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia on Friday, September 5, 2003 at 11:00AM. Burial will be in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Laconia Congregational Church, Dorcas Fund, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, NH 03246.
