Robert "Bob" E. Welch, Sr. Send a condolence note

Tilton-----Robert “Bob” E. Welch, Sr., 65, of 65 Philbrook Road, died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon on Wednesday, April 2, 2008.

         Bob was born December 23, 1942 in Plymouth, N. H., the son of Raymond and Leota (Kingston) Welch.  He lived in Meredith for several years before moving to Tilton twenty years ago.

         Mr. Welch was a talented carpenter and handyman.  He was employed as a Police Officer for the Town of Sanbornton and was also a Corrections Officer for the State of New Hampshire, retiring in 1996.

Bob was a hard worker, loyal to his friends and was willing to help everyone.  He was an excellent cook and enjoyed movies, computer games and model trains.

Mr. Welch was a Mason and was a  member of the Harris Lodge #91 in Warner, and a member of the Parker Lodge #97 in North Woodstock.  

         Survivors include his wife of  twenty-two years, Ann (Dyment) Welch of Tilton; one daughter, Cheryl Toolin, Thornton; three sons, Robert Welch II of Haverhill, Gregory Welch of North Carolina and Raymond “Eric” Welch of New Hampshire; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; his father, Raymond Welch, of Franklin; a brother, Stephen Welch, of Wentworth and aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.  He was predeceased by his mother, Leota (Kingston) Welch and by a brother, Douglas Welch.

         Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

         A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 1:00PM also at the Funeral Home.  The Rev. Dr. Russell Rowland, Pastor of the First Congregational Church in Meredith, will officiate.

         Burial will be later this spring.

         In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s own choice.

         Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.
