Gilford------Allen “Jake” J. McIntire, 93, of Dockham Shore Road, died at the St. Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Laconia on Sunday, April 27, 2008.  Mr. McIntire was the widower of Margaret (Toomey) McIntire who died April 16. 1995.

Mr. McIntire was born May 30, 1914 in Dorchester, Mass., the son of Daniel P. and Margaret (Brennan) McIntire. He served in the U. S. Army and was employed as a glazier at the McIntire Williamson Glass Co. in South Boston, Mass. and was a drafter at HNTB in Boston, Mass.

Mr. McIntire lived in Dorchester for many years and was a longtime summer resident of Gilford.  In 1990, he moved permanently to Gilford.

 Mr. McIntire was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport. He enjoyed sports.

Mr. McIntire is survived by three sons, Daniel J. McIntire, Allen J. McIntire and Steve J. McIntire, all of Gilford; a daughter, Margaret M. McIntire, of Laconia and a grandson, Micum McIntire, of Burlington, Vermont.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, N. H. by Rev. George Soberick, Pastor of the Church.

Burial will follow at 1:30PM in the family lot in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Activities Fund, 406 Court Street, Laconia, N.H. 03246.
