Laconia-----Benjamin B. Emmond, 17, of 110 Belvidere Street, Lakeport died on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Gilford.

Ben was born March 7, 1991 in Laconia, N. H., the son of Jeffrey T. and Kathleen “Kay” (Bickford) Emmond.

Ben was a life long resident of Laconia and was a member of the Junior Class at Laconia High School.  He was involved in the Multi-Media Program at the J. Oliva Huot Technical Center at Laconia High School.  He was a former Cub Scout.  He loved skateboarding, snowboarding, camping, playing guitar hero, drawing and collecting hats and shoes.  He enjoyed all of his friends.  He had been employed at O Steak &  Seafood.    

Ben is survived by his mother and stepfather, Kathleen “Kay” Bickford and Mark DeGara, of Laconia; his father and stepmother, Jeffrey T. and Terri Emmond, of Myrtle Beach, S. C.; his maternal grandmother, Rosemary Bickford, of Ormond Beach, Florida; four stepbrothers, Mark DeGara, Jr. and Justin DeGara both of Laconia; Adrian Emmond of Keene and Mike Hamel of White River Jct., Vermont; two stepsisters, Joyelle Emmond of Keene and Sarah Hamel of White River Jct., Vermont and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Ben was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Cecil “Cy” Bickford, his maternal grandmother, Shirley Penneman and his paternal grandmother, Audrey Cushing.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April l4, 2008 from 5:00-8:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H. using the Whipple Avenue entrance.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 2:00PM at the United Baptist Church, 35 Park Street, Lakeport, N. H.  The Rev. Sharron Lamothe, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, N. H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the City of Laconia Skateboard Park, 306 Union Avenue, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
