Clarence F. Barnard, Jr. Send a condolence note

Thornton-----Clarence F. Barnard, Jr., 85, of 106 Barnard Road died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Tuesday, April 8, 2008.  Mr. Barnard was the widower of Kathryn Ann (Spear) Barnard who died in 2004.

Mr. Barnard was born February 4, 1923 in Laconia, the son of Elizabeth (Connor) and Clarence F. Barnard Sr.  He was raised in Laconia and was a graduate of Laconia High School.

Mr. Barnard served in the U. S. Army during WWII.  He had served Overseas with the Army Air Corps as a Technical Sergeant working on B-17’s.

Mr. Barnard was a realtor and owner of  C. Barnard, Jr. Realty for many years.  He moved to Thornton in 1984.  He enjoyed managing the family tree farm in Thornton.

 Survivors include two sons, Scott C. Barnard of Wilmington, N. C. and Stephen C. Barnard of Meredith; two daughters, Heidi Barnard of Hampstead, N. C. and Peggy Seymour of Gilford; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Barnard was predeceased by a daughter, Kay Barnard, in 2006.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 3:00-4:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00PM also at the Funeral Home.  Rev. Robin Soller, Rector of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Meredith, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, 54 Portsmouth St., Concord, N.H. 03301.
