Laconia-----Ellen R. Mooers, 82, of 229 Wellington Drive, died at her home on Friday, April 11, 2008.  Mrs. Mooers was the widow of Robert E. Mooers who died in 1992.

Mrs. Mooers was born December 27, 1925 in Kent, England, the daughter of Roderick and Marie (Finn) Roberts.  She had been in the United States since 1946 coming from Perth, Australia.   After her husband retired from the Navy, they moved to Stafford, Virginia where they lived for a number of years before moving to Ossipee, N.H. in 1986. She moved to Laconia in 1994.

Mrs. Mooers is survived by one son, Robert Mooers, of Gilford; three daughters, Colleen Danforth of Laconia, Kathi Medina of El Cajon, California and Debbie Lazure of Neosho, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Cassie, Emily, Jason, Mike, David and Matt; seven great grandchildren; a brother, David Roberts, of Australia; two sisters, Jeanne Ireland and Margaret Gilbert, both of Australia and many nephews and nieces. 

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

 A Graveside Service will be held later in the spring.  The date and time will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246 or to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Rte 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032.
