Belmont, NH---------Mrs. Madeleine "Maddie" S. (Vezina) Shaulis, 75, of 30 Mt. View Terrace, Belmont, NH died at the Northridge Medical Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Friday, April 11, 2003 after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Shaulis was born April 13, 1927 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Peter J. & Aurore Marie (Nedeau) Vezina. She was a life long resident of Laconia and was employed as a nursing assistant for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Laconia Post #1670. and was an avid traveler and R.V.'er.
Survivors include her long time companion, Philip Larsen, of Belmont; two sons, Deacon Michael C. Shaulis and his wife Kathy of Gilford, NH and Eric R. Anderson and his wife, Beth of Laconia; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lydia A. and Art Johnson of Meredith, NH, Catherine L. and Steve Lemire of Dover, NH and Lynn G. and Chris Browher of Laconia, NH; 9 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Victor Vezina of Gilmanton; a sister, Annette Careno of Portsmouth; four nieces and two nephews; and her faithful and beloved friend, Cassie, the dog.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, April 25, 2003 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26, 2003 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH
Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049
