Newark, DE----Ellen Smith Page, 90, of Newark, DE and formerly of Concord, NH, died Monday April 14, 2003.

Mrs. Page was born June 3, 1912 on High Maples Farm in Gilford, NH, the daughter of the late Samuel and Winnifred Smith.

Mrs. Page was an educator for much of her life. She taught in Lyme, Hampstead and Meredith, NH, before her marriage. Mrs. Page taught public school in New Jersey and ran her own private school for 15 years. She traveled extensively and enjoyed golf, studying art and painting.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Page was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert L. Page and her son Robert S. Page.
 
She is survived by her daughter, Alice Page Eyman and her husband David of Elkton, MD; siblings, Robert Smith of Ithaca, NY, Anne Dowling of Guilderland, NY and Jessie Naylor of Gilford, NH; grandchildren, Jonathan Page and Michael Page both of Honolulu, HI, Kaitlyn Owens and her husband Matt of Wilmington, DE and Brad Eyman and his wife Nicole of North East, MD; and great-grandsons Jared Owens and Caden Eyman.

A calling hour will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Saturday April 19, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church, 500 Gilford Ave. Gilford, NH.

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, Saturday April 19, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Victoria Wood Parrish, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery, Tilton, NH.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Page may be made to Plymouth State College, College Advancement, MSC 50 Plymouth State College, 17 High Street, Plymouth, NH 03264 or the Gilford Public Library-Children’s Collection, 2 Belknap Mt. Road, Gilford, NH 03249.

The Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, is in charge of the arrangements.
