Ethel Keranen

Laconia----Ethel Keranen, age 94 years, 8 months and 11 days, passed away November 22 at Genesis Laconia Center Laconia, NH.  She was born March 11, 1913 to John and Susan (Rogers) Brogan in Newark, NJ.  She married the love of her life, Victor Keranen, on June 28, 1941 at Broughton Presbyterian, Bloomfield, NJ.  To this union, three daughters were born, Susan (Herb) Martin of Laconia, NH, Emma (Jim) Vogt of Sparta, WI and Katherine Cox of Keuka Park, NY.  She lived most of her married life in Elmira, NY, moving to Laconia in 1995 after the death of her husband.

 She is further survived by grandchildren Ryan Martin, Jennifer Zimmerman, Michele Richmond, Brian Vogt and Sarah Vogt; 6 great-grandchildren, special niece, Roseanna Smith, other nieces and nephews, fourth “daughter” Bev (Rick) Woolever, and Bob Darling who did so much for her and Victor.

 Ethel got great pleasure from her family playing card games and making wonderful memories together.  She was a life long fan of the New York Yankees.

 We would like to thank the staff of Genesis Laconia Center who gave our mother such care and love for the last several years.  She was very happy there because of all of you!

 There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
