Edward H. DeForge, Sr.

Gilford-----Edward H. DeForge, Sr., 74, of 24 Allen Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Saturday, November 3, 2007. He had been a resident of Genesis Eldercare Laconia Center for the last two years.
Mr. DeForge was born April 28, 1933 in Tilton, N. H., the son of Harold E. and Irma (Wilkinson) DeForge.

Mr. DeForge was raised in Tilton, N.H. where he attended local schools and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He moved to Gilford forty years ago.

Mr. DeForge was employed at Allen-Rogers for many years. He was formerly employed at Pike Industries, Tilton Endless Belts, Aavid and was a school crossing guard in Laconia. Mr. DeForge was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church in Lakeport.

Mr. DeForge was a former member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks No. 876. He loved the Red Sox and the Patriots.

Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Priscilla (Gurney) DeForge of Gilford; a son, Edward H. DeForge, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Laconia; three daughters, Kimberly Ann Collins and her husband, Wayne, of Laconia, Deena Jean and her husband, Daniel, of Laconia and Shara Kent and her husband, Donald, of Laconia; five grandchildren, Louise Collins, Crystal Collins, Daniel Jean, Andrew Jean and Michelle Jean; two great grandsons, Hayden Jean and David C. Jean; two sisters, Barbara Cullen of Brooksville, Florida and Marion Paquin of Providence, Rhode Island. In addition to his parents and two sisters, Mr. DeForge was predeceased by a grandson, Francis Collins, on September 2, 2007.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H., using the Whipple Avenue entrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, N. H. on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 10:00AM by Rev. George Soberick, Pastor of the Church.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Academy Street, Laconia, N. H.
