Lydia M. Cole

Laconia-----Lydia M. Cole, 91, of 137 Randlett Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Saturday, November 17, 2007. 

Mrs. Cole was born March 6, 1916 in Scituate, Mass., the daughter of

Ralph and Eva (Leavitt) Morris).  She was raised and educated in Laconia, NH.  During WWII, Mrs. Cole was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper at Nighswander & Lord Law Firm.  After her marriage, she moved to Concord where she lived for twenty years.  After her husband’s death in 1991, she moved back to Laconia.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. 

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Bowen, of Laconia; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren and three nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cole was predeceased by her husband, Stanley E. Cole, in 1991 and by two brothers; Leavitt Morris and Colton Morris.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Private burial was held in the family lot in Pleasant View Cemetery, Rumney, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH, 03247.
