Gilmanton------Kenneth P. Hoffman, 55, of 67 Ridgewood Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, September 21, 2008.

Mr. Hoffman was born August 28, 1953 in Methuen, Mass., the son of Philip and Edna (Mocnar) Hoffman. He was raised in Methuen and graduated from Tenney High School. Mr. Hoffman moved to Gilmanton, N.H. thirty-five years ago. He was employed by Granite State Volkswagen and was parts manger for Skip King Volkswagen. In 1994, he became owner of Globe Transmissions.

Mr. Hoffman was a member and past president of the Greater Boston Parts Managers Association, a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, and a past president of Lakeridge Manor Homeowner’s Association.

Mr. Hoffman enjoyed years of go-cart racing with his sons and won many trophies. He was giving of his time, energy and caring to his family, friends and all those he came in contact with. He loved to work with his hands. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend. He had a wonderful, dry sense of humor and a calm and gentle demeanor. He recently realized a lifelong dream of taking a motorcycle trip to Alaska with his dear friend, Dick Gardner.

Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife, Amy (Weglarz) Hoffman, of Gilmanton; two sons, Joseph M. Hoffman and Jonathan E. Hoffman, both of Gilmanton; his mother, Edna Hoffman, of Methuen, Mass.; three brothers, Philip Hoffman of Raymond, Daniel Hoffman of Salem and Clayton Hoffman of Plaistow; two sisters, Kathleen Hoffman Locke of Auburn and Judith Hoffman Hall of Methuen, Mass.; six nieces and nine nephews. Mr. Hoffman was predeceased by his father, Philip Hoffman.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 1:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.
