Millicent V. Martin

Meredith-----Millicent V. Martin, 82, of 153 Parade Road, died at the Forestview Manor on Sunday, September 9, 2007.

Mrs. Martin was born January 4, 1925 in New Hampton, N. H., the daughter of Alfred S. and Vernie (Huckins) Mallorey.  She was the widow of Gordon Martin who died in April 2002.

Mrs. Martin lived in Illinois since 1944 and was a Professor of Child Development at the University of Illinois.  She was an active member, past president and state delegate of the Business and Professional Women’s. Mrs. Martin moved to New Hampshire in February, 2006 because of illness.

Mrs. Martin is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Wesley D. and Tish Mallorey, of Laconia, N. H.; two nieces, Valeda Waddell of Loveland, Colorado and Melissa Jane Clark of Casper, Wyoming; a nephew, James Mallorey, of Littleton, Colorado; several grandnephews and grandnieces and several great grandnephews and great grandnieces.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Alfreda E. Graham, in 1988.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 11:00AM at the family lot in deBord Cemetery, Grandville, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one’s own favorite charity.
