Michael E. Morancy

Gilford----Michael E. Morancy, 51, of 168 Sleeper Hill Road, died at his home on Friday September 22, 2006, after a brief battle with cancer.

Mr. Morancy was born on April 12, 1955 in San Jose California, the son of Melvin and Katharine (Mosher) Morancy. He was raised in Gilford all of his life, he graduated in Laconia High School class of 1973 and earned his bachelor’s degree at New England College in Henniker.

Mr. Morancy was a salesman for over 30 years, most recently working for New England Pottery of Foxboro, MA. He worked for John Henry Company in Lansing Michigan for 15 years.

Mr. Morancy was a loving father and a loyal friend. He was a music enthusiast and a strong supporter of the Lyman Haunted Forest.

Survivors include a son Mikael Morancy of Gilford; a daughter Melissa Morancy of Gilford; one brother Mylar Morancy of Gilford; and two sisters Marie Morancy of New Hampshire and Maureen Hullinger of Nevada, a niece and a nephew.. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a paternal grandmother Eva (Joyal) Morancy.

There will be no calling hours.

A joyful celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at noontime at the Summit of Gunstock Mountain in Gilford. Chairlifts will be provided. At the family’s request casual colorful attire appreciated.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions made be made in his name to the, Live For Today Fund, c/o Laconia Savings Bank,62 Pleasant Street, Laconia NH 03246.
