Marion Boyd

Laconia, NH-----Marion Boyd of 2 Kinsman Drive, Laconia died at the CLC-Ledgeview in the Taylor Community on Saturday September 23, 2006. She was 87 years old.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1918 in Hartford Conn., being the daughter of Edwin E. Sage and Mary Harvey Sage. She graduated from Hartford Public High School and Colby Junior College in New London, N. H.

After her marriage to Jack Boyd of West Hartford, Conn. in May, 1948 they resided in Hollis, Maine for four years. They then moved to Hollis, N.H. where they resided for twenty three years.  She taught piano and organ lessons for many years and was the organist for the

Hollis Congregational Church, and was a member and very active in the Nashua Choral Society and the American Guild of Organists.  She and her husband moved to Gilford, N. H. in 1976, after which they combined their love of world travel with their community service at home.  At one time she was the interim organist at the Laconia Congregational Church. In 2004 they moved to the Ledges, a part of the Taylor Community, in Laconia, N.H.

She leaves her husband of 58 years Jack Boyd and four children, Barbara Conger of Portland, Me., Richard Boyd of Aspen, Colo., Douglas and Diane Boyd of Hollis, N. H., and Mary and Gary Young of Brookline, N. H.  She also leaves 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday October 1, 2006 2:00 PM at the Laconia Congregational Church, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia. The Rev. Dr. Warren H. Bouton will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Congregational Church of Laconia-Dorcas Fund, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia.
