Belmont-----Claire A. Booth, 81, of 31 Church Hill, Belmont died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Friday, September 1, 2006.  Mrs. Booth was the widow of H. Morrison “Sonny” Booth who died in 1997.

Mrs. Booth was born February 26, 1925 in Belmont, NH, the daughter of the late Alcide G. and Rose (Gagnon) Turcotte.

Mrs. Booth was raised and educated in Belmont and was a graduate of  Forsythe Dental School in Boston, MA.  She served in the U. S. Navy during WWII.  Mrs. Booth was first employed at the Lakes Region General Hospital and later was the office manager at the Laconia Clinic for many years.

Mrs. Booth was a very active communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont.  She loved to travel and to read.

Survivors include two sons, Peter J. Booth, of Delray Beach, Florida and Steven O. Booth, of Belmont; two daughters, Heather A. Johnson of Gilford and Sara D. Booth of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren, Erin Booth, Taber Johnson, Lisa Johnson, Susan LeBel and Brooks Johnson; three great grandchildren, Julia Booth, Jordyn Johnson and Freedman Johnson; a brother, Normand L. Turcotte, of Belmont, NH and Fort Meyers, Florida; two nephews and two nieces.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Parish, Main Street, Belmont on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 10:00AM.

Burial will follow in the family lot in South Road Cemetery, Belmont, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph Parish Food Pantry or the Altar Society, PO Box 285, Belmont, NH 03220.
