Bertha I. (Rose) Webber

Laconia-----Bertha I. (Rose) Webber, 102, of 51 Silkwood Avenue, died at her caretaker’s home on Monday, September 25, 2006 after living a long and fulfilling life.

Mrs. Webber was born July 28, 1904 in Groton, MA, the daughter of Walter E. and Sarah Marion (Fox) Rose. Mrs. Webber lived most of her life in Groton. She attended the Groton School system graduating in the class of 1922. She was a member of the Christian Union Church and the Ladies Aid Society of West Groton. She was also an eighty-eight-year member of the Middlesex Rebekah Lodge #176 and was Past Noble Grand. She served as Librarian at the Branch Library in West Groton from 1967-1974 when the library closed.

In 1990, she moved to Belmont, NH to be closer to her son. She was a member of the South Baptist Church in Belmont.

Mrs. Webber is survived by her son, George E. Webber, of Belmont, NH; four grandchildren, Gary Webber of Westford, MA, Gene Webber of New Ipswich, NH, Susan Mele of Belmont, NH and Rebecca Gagne of Nashua, NH; ten great grandchildren; one great, great grandson; two sisters-in-law, Georgia Webber Tamburro and Josephine Webber Hill both of Springfield, Oregon.

She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-one years, Edward Webber, in 1979; her daughter-in-law, Linda Webber, in 2004 and by a great grandson in 2001.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 10:00AM at the South Baptist Church, 85 Court Street, Laconia, NH. Pastor Barry Armitage, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow at 1:00PM in the family lot at the Groton Cemetery, Groton, MA.

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
