Lorraine Y. Kennedy

 Meredith----Lorraine Y. Kennedy, 76, of 23 Gould Avenue, and a former longtime resident of Fitchburg, MA died at her home on Thursday, September 28, 2006.  She was the widow of Andrew “Barney” H. Kennedy who died in 1974.

Mrs. Kennedy was born February 7, 1930 in Fitchburg, MA, the daughter of Joseph E. and Aldea (DeLorme) Duval.  She lived most of her life in Fitchburg before moving to Meredith five years ago.

In her early years, Mrs. Kennedy was employed at Watatic Mills and later at the Rectories of St. Francis of Assisi and Immaculate Conception Churches in Fitchburg.  She later was employed at City Cleaners for many years before retiring from T.J. Maxx in 1996. 

Mrs. Kennedy was an avid Red Sox fan.  She enjoyed knitting and in her earlier years enjoyed candle pin bowling.

Mrs. Kennedy was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Meredith, NH and a former communicant at St. Francis of Assisi Church.  She was devoted to her faith, and was an adorator at the Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel at St. Camilla Church.

Survivors include  a son, Michael D. Kennedy and his wife, Parvaneh Youssefian Kennedy, of Worcester, MA; three daughters, Joyce H. (Kennedy) Aucoin and her husband, Raymond A., of Fitchburg, MA, Linda A. (Kennedy) Stewart and her husband, Thomas A., of Meredith and Donna M. Kennedy of Fitchburg, MA; six grandchildren, Raymond A. Aucoin II, John F. Kennedy, Andrea A. Stephens, Erin H. Stewart, Anne T. Stewart and Thomas A. Stewart II; four great grandchildren, David Stephens, Beylie Marie West, Ellieanna Alise West and Elecia Leigh Stephens; a brother, Joseph E. Duval, Jr. of Leominster, MA; a sister, Therese L. (Duval) Lagasse, of Waterbury, CT; two nephews and one niece.  In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Gloria T. (Duval) Girouard.

Calling hours in New Hampshire will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2006 from 2:00-4:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. 

Calling hours in Massachusetts, will be held on Monday, October 2, 2006 from 6:00-9:00PM at the Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer Street, Fitchburg, MA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 81 Sheridan St., Fitchburg, MA on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 10:00AM. 

Burial will follow in the family lot at St. Bernard’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Route 101 Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032 or to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
