Gordon A. Thompson

Gilmanton Iron Works----Gordon A. Thompson, 60, of 2047 Rt 140, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Monday, September 19, 2005. He was the widower of Mary (Dame) Thompson.

Mr. Thompson was born May 16, 1945 in Pittsfield, NH, the son of Henry S. and Beulah E. (Horne) Thompson. He was a lifetime resident of Gilmanton Iron Works and worked for Middleton Lumber.

Mr. Thompson loved to collect die cast cars and trains and antique bikes.

Survivors include two brothers, Henry Thompson of Manchester and Stanley Thompson of Concord; a sister, Elizabeth Gagne of Henniker and two nephews, Wes Sargent of Gilmanton and Darryl Sargent of Manchester; many aunts, uncles and cousins, “The Girls” and his cat “McIver”. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Irving Thompson in 2004 and Clement Thompson in 1986.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2005 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 11:00AM at the Gilmanton Community Church at the Iron Works. Rev. Linda Bolton, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Riverview Cemetery, Barnstead, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Rte 101 Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110.

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
