Rose Alice Brody

Laconia-----Rose Alice Brody, 95, of Laconia, passed away on September 13, 2005 at her home. Mrs. Brody was the widow of Nathan Brody, M.D. who died June 15, 1977. Dr. Brody was a prominent general practitioner with a specialty in alcohol rehabilitation.

Mrs. Brody was born August 25, 1910 in Malden, MA, the daughter of Louis and Sarah R. (Albert) Kurinsky. When Dr. and Mrs. Brody first moved to Belmont, Mrs. Brody assisted her husband with home visits and newborn births. Mrs. Brody was a strong advocate and corporator of the Lakes Region General Hospital. She was a member of the Laconia Women’s Club, Laconia Garden Club and a life member of the Lakes Region General Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member of Hadassah and Temple B’Nai Israel. Mrs. Brody was a contemporary woman who had a passion for politics, books and reading. She made numerous book donations to the Laconia Public Library. She also loved animals and she supported the Humane Society and the Audubon Society.

Mrs. Brody leaves two sons and one daughter, Dr. Spencer J. Brody of Meredith, New Hampshire, Robin Brody of Monterey, California and Connie Roedder of South San Francisco, California. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, David Brody of Westford, MA, Lynn Brody of Westford, MA, Jeffery Brody of Belmont, MA and Joshua Brody of Belmont, New Hampshire. She also leaves five great grandchildren and two close family members, Peggy and Todd Selig. There are no calling hours.

A private gravesite service will be held at Union Cemetery, Laconia for immediate family members only.
