Theresa M. Smith

Laconia-----Theresa M. Smith, 89, of 253 Wellington Drive and formerly of 207 Baldwin Street, died at the Goldenview Health Care Center, Meredith on Tuesday, October 13, 2009. She was the widow of Oliva “Fats” P. Smith who died in 1991.
Mrs. Smith was born October 30, 1919 in Edmundston, Canada, the daughter of Charles and Eugenie (Banville) Lavoie. She lived in Franklin and Holyoke, Mass for several years before moving to Laconia where she lived for over sixty years. She was employed at Winconia for twenty-five years before retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Smith was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Ladies of Sacred Heart.
Survivors include a son, Bradley F. Smith, and two daughters, Linda Cooper and Patricia
Rollins, all of Laconia; four grandchildren, Stephanie Treen of Nashua and Bethany Rollins, Kerri Smith and Kimberly Smith, all of Laconia; one great granddaughter, Laney Treen, of Nashua; a brother, Alphonse Lavoie, of Sedona, Arizona; one sister, Valerie Barrett, of Rhode Island and several nephews and nieces.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 9:30AM-10:30AM in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00AM.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, N. H.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Association for the Blind, McGreal Sight Center, 25 Walker Street, Concord, N.H. 03301.
