Irene M. Chamberlin

Laconia-----Irene M. Chamberlin, 87, of 7 Church Street and formerly of 23 Gale Avenue, died at her home on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. She was the widow of Francis W. Chamberlin who died in 2000.

Mrs. Chamberlin was born February 8, 1922 in Franklin, NH, the daughter of Everett and Mary Louise (Dussault) Poisson. She lived in Berlin for thirty-three years before moving to the Lakes Region where she has lived for the past thirty years.

Mrs. Chamberlin was employed as a stitcher for the Converse Rubber Company for fifteen years. She was a communicant of the St. Joseph Church and was a member of the St. Joseph Ladies Guild. Mrs. Chamberlin enjoyed shopping and playing Bingo.

Survivors include three daughters, Marie LaClerc of Blue Hill, Maine, Kathy Shute and Janet Bowles both of Belmont; two stepsons, Earl Francis Chamberlin of Chicopee Falls, MA and John Chamberlin of Las Vegas, NV; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Poisson, of Laconia and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Chamberlin was predeceased by four brothers, and by three sisters.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH.

Burial will follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Rte 3, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity School, 50 Church Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
