Jean D. Caven

Gilmanton-----Jean D. Caven, 89, of 120 Sawyer Lake Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Mrs. Caven was the widow of Alfred D. Caven who died in 2001.
Mrs. Caven was born July 7, 1920 in Cambridge, Mass. She served in the U. S. Coast Guard during WWII.
Mrs. Caven lived in Deerfield, Mass. for many years and had been employed at Dumont Corp. in Greenfield, Mass. In 1982, she moved to Gilmanton. She enjoyed bowling and arts and crafts.
Mrs. Caven is survived by a son, Bruce A. Caven, and a grandchild, Meredith Caven, both of Gilmanton, N.H. and several nephews and nieces.
There will be no calling hours.
Private burial will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, N.H. 03247.
