Flora Osgood Woodcock

Meredith---Flora Osgood Woodcock, 89, of 22 Corliss Hill Road, died on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at The Mountain Ridge Center, Franklin  where she was recovering from an operation for a broken hip.

Flora was born October 3, 1918 in Woodsville, N. H., the daughter of George and Nellie (Marshall) Osgood.  She was a graduate of Bradford (VT) Academy and Lyndon Teachers College.

Flora moved to Meredith in 1950 with her husband, Dwight C. Woodcock, and family.  She was a teacher at the Tiny Tot Kindergarten in Meredith and later taught first grade in the Meredith School District.

Flora enjoyed bird watching, gardening and playing cards with her good friends.

Flora is survived by two daughters, Janet Mitchell, and her husband, John, of Richmond, Vermont and Nancy Colosi of Sterling, Virginia; a son, Denver Woodcock, and his wife, Kate, of Hooksett, N. H.; two grandsons, John Colosi and his wife, Sara, of Dulles, Virginia and Peter Colosi and his wife, Katie, of San Francisco, California and a sister, Vera Osgood Munn, of Bradford, Vermont.  She was predeceased by her husband, Dwight Woodcock, by her grandson, Tony Colosi, and by her siblings, John Osgood, Walton Osgood and Helen Osgood Leavitt.

There will be no calling hours.

A celebration of Flora’s life will take place this coming spring at the family property in Vermont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 360 Route 101, Bedford, N. H. 03110.
