John J. Kennedy

Gilford-----John J. Kennedy, 87, of 144 Scenic Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Thursday, October 4, 2007.

Mr. Kennedy was born July 11, 1920 in Boston, Mass., the son of James J. and Sadie A. (Sheridan) Kennedy.

Mr. Kennedy lived in Billerica, Mass. for several years before moving to New Hampshire twenty-one years ago.  He was employed at R. C. A. for many years. 

Mr. Kennedy was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport, N. H.  His interests included golf, bowling, boating and fishing.  He was a friend to all.

Survivors include his wife of forty-one years, Helen C. (Bradley) Kennedy, of Gilford, N. H.; two sisters, Mary Tevlin and Peggy Cardarelli, both of Chelmsford, Mass.; several nephews and nieces and his long time friend, Everett Leland, of Ashland, N. H.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Kennedy was predeceased by a brother, George Kennedy.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 5, 2007 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 9:00AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, N.H. by Rev. George Soberick, Pastor of the Church.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, N. H.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Kennedy’s name may be made to  Genesis Eldercare – Laconia Center, Activities Fund, 175 Blueberry Lane, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
