Arlene M. Gilman

Sanbornton-----Arlene M. Gilman, 85, of 12 Skyline Drive, died at the Lakes Regional General Hospital, Laconia on Thursday, October 25, 2007.

Mrs. Gilman was born October 22, 1922 in Albany, Vermont, the daughter of Irvin and Winnifred (Sanborn) Bickford.  She had been a resident of Sanbornton for the past nine years.   

Mrs. Gilman was an active member of the Second Baptist Church of Sanbornton.  She loved her family and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Gilman, of Sanbornton; a son, Glenn Haddock, of Laconia; two stepsons, Robert Gilman of Belmont and Charles Gilman of Claremont; two daughters, Beverly King, of Morehouse, Missouri and Phyllis Russell of Laconia; three stepdaughters, Paula Gilman of Gilmanton, Sheila Halsey of Meredith and Charon Pinard of Deerfield; twenty-four grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Brenda Colburn, of Barton, Vermont and many nephews and nieces including Karen Compton of Gilford.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilman was predeceased by two daughters, Joyce Waite and Kristin Turkington and by brothers and sisters.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2007 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Second Baptist Church, Upper Bay Road, Sanbornton, N. H.  Rev. Dr. Robert Robertson, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will be at a later date in the family lot in Smith Meeting House Cemetery, Gilmanton, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Second Baptist Church, Upper Bay Road, Sanbornton, NH 03269.
