Lorraine Theresa Gilbert

Belmont-----Lorraine Theresa Gilbert, 75, of 39 Hubble Road, died at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Thursday, October 4, 2007.

Mrs. Gilbert was born October 20, 1931 in Meredith, the daughter of Joseph P. and Rose (Bill) Romprey. 

Mrs. Gilbert was a lifelong resident of the Lakes Region.   She was employed at New England Telephone and AT&T for thirty years before retiring in 1993.

Mrs. Gilbert devoted her life to her family.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Albert J. Gilbert, of Belmont; four sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph A. and JoAnne Gilbert of  Gilmanton, Dennis G. and Donna Gilbert of Chichester, Theodore “Ted” J. and Valerie Gilbert of Belmont and Michael E. and Yvonne Gilbert; two daughters, Deborah A. Gilbert of Laconia and Janice L. Hammond and her husband, Robert, of Belmont; eight grandchildren, Anthony Gilbert, Adam Gilbert, Dennis Gilbert, Christine Hinds, Sara Hammond, Julie Hammond, Michael Gilbert and Ryan Gilbert; one great granddaughter, Hannah Gilbert, a sister, Mildred Thomas, of Moultonborough and several nephews and nieces.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilbert was predeceased by her siblings, George Romprey, Phillip Romprey, Eugene Romprey, Thomas Romprey, Edward Romprey, Donald Romprey, Bernard Romprey, Arilda Brown and Beverly Snow.

A memorial calling hour will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 from 2:00-3:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia.

A Remembrance will follow the calling hour at 3:00 PM also at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
