Maureen I. Ferrera

Laconia. N. H.----Maureen I. Ferrera, 72, of 25 Union Avenue, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Monday, October 15, 2007.

 Mrs. Ferrera was born May 29, 1935 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Patrick and Elizabeth (Canty) O’Sullivan.  She lived in Newton, Massachusetts for several years before moving to Laconia eight years ago.

Mrs. Ferrera was a peer counselor at the Boston Self Help Center.

Mrs. Ferrera enjoyed knitting and reading.  Her favorite quote was “Live a little, eat dessert first.”

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn-Joyce M. and Donald Daigneau of Laconia, New Hampshire; two sons, James D. Ferrera of Lincoln, New Hampshire and Charles P. Ferrera of Harvest, Alabama; four grandchildren, Meghan Daigneau, Kayla Daigneau, Lacy Thompson and Benjamin Going; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Ronald Turnbull, of Montrose, Colorado and two nieces, Shannon Janda and Kerri Turnbull.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ferrera was predeceased by a brother, Joseph O’Sullivan.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

There will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central New England Chapter, 101 First Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA  02451.
