Patrick "Pat" J. Dunleavy

Laconia-----Patrick “Pat” J. Dunleavy, 68, of 84 Belknap Street, died at the Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, with his loving family around him, on Friday, October 26, 2007 after a short illness. Pat was the widower of B. Diane (Guyer) Dunleavy who died April 26, 2007.

Pat was born December 4, 1938 in Laconia, N. H., the son of the late Police Chief Charles “Mickey” and Lora “Molly” M. (Hughes) Dunleavy. He was a life long resident of Laconia and graduated from Laconia High School in 1957.  He was employed at J.J. Morin. Inc. for twenty-nine years, retiring in 2004.  He formerly worked for Pike Industries for a number of years.

Pat was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.

Pat was a member of the the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876, the Opechee Park Association and a former member of the Sachems Boosters Club.  He was formerly on the Board of Directors of the Laconia Little League, Pop Warner Football and the Lou Athanas Youth Basketball League.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed camping in Maine.

Pat was a recipient of the Debra Bieniarz Award for youth service.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-laws, Timothy C. and Laurie Dunleavy, Kevin P. and Jennifer Dunleavy and John S. and Kerri Dunleavy, all of Laconia; five grandchildren, Nakia, Molly, Norah, Caitlin and Audrey, all of Laconia and several nephews and nieces.  In addition to his parents and his wife, Pat was predeceased by his sister, Ann E. Normandin.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 29, 2007 from 5:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N. H. on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 10:00AM by Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the Church.

Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Lambert Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kimberly Morin Scholarship c/o Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 7312, Gilford, N. H, 03247-7312.
