Octave "Bob" E. St. Jacques

Gilford-----Octave “Bob” E. St. Jacques, 76, of 303 Old Lakeshore Road, and formerly of 114 Washington St., Lakeport, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, October 8, 2006.

Mr. St. Jacques was born June 1, 1930 in Franklin, NH, the son of Joseph B. and Loriannna (Hebert) St. Jacques.

Mr. St. Jacques was a Sgt. in the U.S. Marines, serving in the Korean War on board the U. S. S. Bennington as a flight line mechanic. Mr. St. Jacques lived in Laconia for fifty-two years before moving to Gilford three weeks ago. He and his wife were owners of St. Jacques Upholstery. Mr. St. Jacques was also employed at Cantin Chevrolet and Scott & Williams.

Mr. St. Jacques loved his family and will be missed by all. He was an active member of the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. of Franklin. He enjoyed camping and boating and was a member of the North American Campers Association, the Pine Tree Chapter #33 of Maine, the Palm Tree Chapter #27 of Lakeland, Florida and theArch Chapter #74 of Tilton, NH.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannette E. (Gilbert) St. Jacques, of Gilford; a son, Leo A. St. Jacques, of Moultonboro; two daughters, Helen Boisvert, of Laconia and Susan Mekkelsen of Franklin; eight grandchildren, Jean Cox, Renee Houle, Amy St. Jacques, Roger Boisvert, Heidi St. Jacques, Rebecca Hanson, Brandon Hanson and Jacob Bolduc; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Ben St. Jacques and Arthur St. Jacques, both of Franklin; a sister, Doris Greenfield, of Canterbury and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Maurice St. Jacques, Rosaire St. Jacques and Armand St. Jacques.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Service, with full military honors, will be held in the Chapel of the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 10:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lakes Region General Hospital, Oncology Department, 80 Highland Street, Laconia, NH.
