Gilford----Paul H. Smith 83, of 41 Bedford Ave. died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia Saturday October 14, 2006.

      Paul was born March 21, 1923 in Warner, NH the son of Charles and Roxie (Bunnell) Smith. He had served in the US Army during WWII. He had been a resident of Gilford for the past 25 years coning from Tilton.

     Paul had been employed at Arwood Corp. in Tilton for many years and had formerly been employed at First National in Laconia and Tilton as a manager.

     Paul was a wonderful man, worked hard all his life and was very thoughtful. If one did not know him in depth you would be the loser. He loved his home and enjoyed music and will always be remembered and truly missed.

      Survivors include wife Virginia of Gilford; 4 children from his first marriage; 3 brothers Dean, Donald and Gordon; nephews and nieces. Beside his parents he was predeceased by a brother and a sister.

     There are no calling hours.

      A graveside service will be held Tuesday October 17, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Pine Grove Cemetery, Belknap Mt. Road Gilford.

      In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc. Parkinson Plaza 135 Parkinson Ave. Staten Island, NY 10305.
