John W. McLean, Sr.

Laconia-----John W. McLean, Sr., 82, formerly of 48 Harvard Street, died at Genesis Eldercare – Laconia Center on Sunday, October 2, 2005. He was the widower of Elsie (Blakeney) McLean.

Mr. McLean was born November 20, 1922 in Calais, Maine, the son of William W. and Zeltha M. (Smith) McLean. Mr. McLean was a self-employed carpenter. He lived in Laconia for several years and was a Life Member of the Rod and Gun.

Survivors include a son, John W. McLean, Jr. and his wife, Janice, of Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada; five grandchildren, Shane, Cameron, Tia, Candida and Jason; five great grandchildren; a brother, Wallace McLean and two sisters, Helen and Mary. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Ralph and Frank and by his companion for more than twenty years, Virginia Porrier.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held at the family lot in Calais Cemetery, Calais, Maine.
