Hazel M. Kemp

Laconia-----Hazel M. Kemp, 83, of 25 Union Avenue and formerly of 140 Court Street, died at the Concord Hospital on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. She was the widow of Howard G. Kemp who died in 1997.

Mrs. Kemp was born January 7, 1922 in Sunbury, Penn., the daughter of Boyd and Mary (Wagner) Holdren. Mrs. Kemp had been a resident of Laconia since 1950 and was the owner of Kemp’s Bible Depot and Kemp’s Tourist Home. She was a member of the South Baptist Church for many years where she was the former Church secretary and a former Sunday School Teacher. For the past five years, she volunteered as a Senior Companion for the Community Action Program.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly J. and Dennis Leclerc of Belmont; two grandchildren, Robin Schofield of Belmont and Aaron Leclerc of Northfield and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Paul Holdren, Ralph Holdren and Howard Holdren and by a sister, Helen Holdren.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2005 at 11:00AM, at the South Baptist Church, 85 Court Street, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Senior Companion Community Action Program c/o Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc., PO Box 1016, Concord, NH 03302-1016 or to Faith Christian Academy, 87 Horne Road, Belmont, NH 03220.
